Christina Alex’s Blog - A great resource about teen issues

Be sure you check out Christina Alex’s blog featured on her website especially if you are a youth program coordinator, an event planner looking for a speaker focusing on youth issues or a parent wanting more info about what issues young people are facing.

For instance,Christina has a post about the rise in “digital stalking” or “tech abuse” where teens repeatedly send text messages or Instant Messages to their partner to keep tabs on them. There is also a write up about how the boyfriends of some young women intentionally get them pregnant to keep them under control.

February - Speaker of the Month- Christina Alex

We are continuing our Speaker of the Month series and just on the heels of Valentine’s Day. While the holiday is meant to celebrate love, there are many people, including young people, who are involved in violent and abusive relationships where they feel there is no escape.

This month’s speaker, Christina Alex has worked tirelessly to combat domestic violence and promote healthy relationships among young people. This past November she became the Director of “Start Strong Bronx” a $1 million initiative funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation which aims to promote healthy relationships and prevent dating violence. New York’s Mayor Bloomberg was on hand to helped launch the initiative.
