Jessica Care Moore debuts new work "God Is Not An American" at the Apollo Theater

Jessica Care Moore debuted her powerful new work "God is Not An American" at the Apollo Theater last week as part of their Salon Series.

"God is Not An American" masterfully fuses poetry and music in a stirring examination of God, race and other social and political issues.

Her multi-media presentation included video clips, a live band and a singer who channeled Phyllis Hyman. Jessica not only discusses how she sees God but also asks others through video clips if God is an American? She also tells her personal story with a rawness that is both refreshing and thought-provoking.
